It was interesting to find
out that when you google "Korkeasaari" the first result is their own
website but when you google "Helsinki Zoo" there is paid advert about
website which sells animal products. It also looks like Korkeasaari has not
paid google for adverts but we think that it is not necessary since Korkeasaari
doesn´t have many competitors in Helsinki region. Second result after www.korkeasaari.fi is Wikipedia site about
Korkeasaari (http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korkeasaari)
and the third one is about korkeasaari
corporation (http://www.korkeasaari.org/).
There are also few sites which tells you how to get there and also google map.
When you google “Helsinki
Zoo” the results are mostly the same as when you google “ Korkeasaari”. We
think that is interesting because Helsinki Zoo is Korkeasaari in english but
results are mostly in Finnish. What about tourist that comes from other
countries? If Korkeasaari would put some money for google adverts they might
get more international tourists. Also Korkeasaari doesn´t have Google plus account which is free and easy way to increase the number of searches.
Google has such a big influence
these days and we think that it is easy way to reach people who are interested
about certain topic. The biggest customers for Korkeasaari are probably families
so facebook or twitter is not the best way to advertise for them. Google is
something that everybody uses so we think that it is important for e-marketing
to take benefit out of it.
